The Bucket List {6 Months In}

Since we’re half way done with 2013 (how do these things happen?), I thought it would only be appropriate to check back in with my 2013 Bucket List.  Even though I am countries away, thanks to modern technology, I can still share my update.

Eat Clean (You can read about this in greater detail in my New Year post)

Practice Yoga More Consistently

Keep Meal Planning

Create/Join a Book Club (and read more!)

 

So the first two items (eating clean and doing yoga) have been inconsistent and schedule dependent. I think that with my schedule change, I will be able to continue to prioritize these things when I return from my trip!

 

We are definitely meal planning!  And although I am reading, there is no book club YET!

Improve Fitness

Half Marathon PRI had a speedy start to the year with a 1:49:46 half marathon PR

Another Olympic Tri

Chicago Marathon (Sub 4:00 please)

Do a Century Bike Ride

 

I’m not sure if I will have time for another Olympic Triathlon, but I did love competing in my first Iron Girl Sprint Triathlon.  Marathon training will return soon!

 

 

Make a Change

Write! (maybe even take a writing class)

VolunteerWe had a great time supporting St. Jude at this event!

Take a Professional Risk-I’ve made a huge change to my work schedule and started some new opportunities

Self Host the BlogI have my own website, so that’s something.  Now my big blog goal is get my recipe page up to date!

  1. Sounds like you definitely have made a pretty good dent in that bucket list!! Your half marathon time still makes me smile – so great!! Eating clean consistently is so challenging sometimes, but I am sure you are doing it more often than not (willing to bet more than I have been lately..oops)!

  2. I know I need to tackle/update my recipes page. Its on my list and I can’t seem to bring myself to do it because it’s probably going to be a huge task. I need to just rip off the bandaid and do it already. Glad to hear I’m not alone in that task though.

  3. Your goals are coming along great, I cannot get over that half marathon PR!! Such a killer time. I didn’t make many goals for the year, and instead I make smaller goals as time goes on!

  4. Nice job with the racing and meal planning so far this year! I would say I am on point with planning meals it is my extracurricular eating that needs to be addressed : ) I had a bunch of goals this year but am allowing wiggle room thanks to my knee! I plan on focusing on core fitness this month and strengthening all the muscles in my leg so I am strong when I get back to running!

    • After a tougher year last year (not in big ways but in the little ways), it was good to see that 2013 had a strong start. I think the job change made the hugest difference and allows me time and mental energy to focus on other things I enjoy.
