The BOY starts school tomorrow, but before he dives back into the books, we had a fun morning adventure in Evanston. Every time we go to Evanston, we talk about how we wish we lived here (and hopefully one day we will). I didn’t take tons of pictures today but we did stop at a few of our favorite places.
And the used bookstore and Barnes and Noble!
I had a gift card for Barnes and Noble and of course, I can never say no to some new cookbooks. Luckily, the BOY and I just got a new bookshelf that is currently empty! I had planned all day to go to a yoga class this afternoon, but I seem to have crashed. I blame the antibiotic, and since I took my last one this morning, I plan on being back in full energetic swing this week! So while the BOY headed off to the library to read 40 pages for his first day of class, I watched Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal while folding over a week’s worth of laundry. Not the exciting Monday or blog post I had hoped for. But with these new cookbooks, I will have some more exciting and healthy recipes to share SOON!
So instead, I will leave you with a few more pictures of our beautiful cookies from yesterday!
Have a great week!
Those are awesome cookies. Wow, you’re very talented!!!
Thanks! I had a GREAT teacher!
It’s such a fun way to spend an afternoon, decorating cookies with friends : )
Oh, bookstores… I could get lost in them for hours if I’m not careful 🙂
Have a great week, too!
In college I would spend the last of my money at B&N on books. I love a day of tea and bookstores. So much fun!
I could lose hours in a book store and even more in a cook book. Can’t wait to see some recipes from the slow cooker book.
I was really impressed with this cookbook because the recipes looked simple but had complex flavors. Plus there are 700 in the book. My slow cooker will be pretty tired by spring : )
700!!! Wow, that’s a crapton.
I nominated you for the Liebster blog award today! Yeah!
Thank you! You are always so sweet and inspiring!
Beautiful cookies! I just got that slow cooker book too! I haven’t cracked it open yet to cook anything but I browsed and there are SOOOOO many recipes!!!
I just couldn’t put it down at the store. Luckily I had a gift card and I can’t wait to get slow cookn’! I can’t decide what to make first. I’m looking forward to seeing what you make too!
Those cookies look better than some of the ones at panera – just sayin ‘ haha
You are so sweet! Thank you! They might just be my prettiest dessert ever. It’s good to have talented friends : )
Sounds like you had a good time in Evanston. I hope you do get to move there one day! I can’t think of a better way to spend a day than relaxing and watching TV and folding laundry. Sometimes it’s the simple moments that are the best!
Well said! I definitely felt recharged!
I took a week off from working out when I wasn’t feeling well and it was the best thing I could have done! Hope you’re feeling better!
Thanks! I am coming off of almost 2 weeks off when I was super sick so my patience is thinning : ) But I totally agree that time off does my mind and body good! I just sometimes pout about it…ha ha!
Let me know how you like that slow cooker book! I’m obsessed with my slow cooker.
I will definitely share some recipes. This book looks like I would want to make everything in it!
I got my salt and pepper shakers. They look awesome. Thanks so much!!!
Those cookies look sooooo good! My favorite!! Sounds like a great day to me. I love used bookstores!
Me too! I always stock up on books when I am there and really need a few more book cases to hold them all. Ha ha!
