I did a post like this last year on NYE and thought it was a fun way to document the day!
8:00 AM- Wake Up and Breakfast while catching up with my BFF over the phone
9:30 AM- Finally feeling well enough to make it to Hot Yoga
11:11 AM- Post yoga Green Purple Smoothie
1:00 PM- Leftovers for Lunch
1:45 PM- Shopping Trip (leaving the BOY at home happily watching Big Ten Basketball)
3:35 PM- Return Home 35 Minutes after the start of the Indiana Game
Guess where the BOY is? Exactly where I left him!
3:52 PM- Half Time!
Grandma’s Brownies (recipe to come) go into the oven
5:06 PM- Indiana Wins!
5:07 PM- We Nap!
7:00 PM- Awake…the BOY comes to inspect dessert as I get the tunes bumping!
Yes, I dance alone in the kitchen while working on the stuffed mushrooms
7:45 PM- The BOY googles how to steam lobster
7:49 PM- We meet the lobster!
8:14 PM- The lobster and crab go into the pot and the BOY joins me in dancing
8:26 PM- We sit down to eat dinner
9:30 PM- Let the games begin!
10:26PM- I go PRO in Wii bowling earning a new pink shiny ball!
10:42PM- Turn on the NYC count down and dig into the brownies…yum!
11:36PM- The mocking of the Chicago Countdown begins (much laughter follows)
Awesome city, but a terrible countdown!
11:40 PM- We switch to Fox for the Las Vegas Countdown…much better!
11:48- The champagne is poured!
12:02 AM- Happy 2013!
This is the BOY and my 7th NYE together and we always bust out these glasses on New Years!
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year!
That’s definitely a fun way to document the day. My documentation would have been so much more boring with 5 hours of work at the beginning! Happy New Year!!!
Yes, I have been luckily to have NYE Day off for the past few weeks and I always like to relax and enjoy teh day : ) I’m back at work tomorrow though!
Happy New Year and thanks for the fun and informative posts!
What a fun day!! The lobster is making my mouth water! 🙂
We had a low-key NYE–grabbed some sushi and brought it home to eat with a few side dishes. Then we watched the Dick Clark tribute countdown while sipping on some margaritas. Aaaaannd, I was in bed at 10 pm. Yeah. I’m old–couldn’t cut it. But that’s okay–I’m hosting a good luck dinner tonight, so I have lots to do today!
What a fantastic way to start the year. Enjoy your dinner party! We did make it awake until 1am but it was definitely our tamest new years to date. Super fun though!
My “boy” read this over my shoulder. He is not too happy with you since I am now insisting that we have to find some lobster tails to steam. It looks yummy in the picture. Happy New Year!
Ha ha! That is too funny! We picked them up at Costco and have a little homemade connection to steam them (although I suggested grilling the lobster). It wasn’t pretty but it worked out well, and the crab legs were the most flavorful I’ve ever tasted!
Yay for hot yoga to start the day! I did that too (my first one ever!) This looks like a perfect day!
What did you think?
You can tell that picture was taken after the class. Since I’ve been sick, it was super tough but I’m so happy that I went. It was a great way to start the day. I love yoga!!!
Sounds like a great day…..and those brownies look so moist!!! YUM!!
It was fantastic! The BOY and I have enjoyed some quality time together before I go back to work and his next semester begins and NYE was a great way to end the break!
What fun!! I love hot yoga 🙂 I also dance alone in the kitchen!! Its my form of meditation!
Yes, I am seeing the benefits. I decided that I will need more dancing in the coming year. Thanks for the comment!
What a fun last day of 2012! Love that you documented it with pictures! Any day filled with hot yoga, lobster and my boy would be fabulous, too 🙂
I know, right? It’s the best of ALL worlds! I also did some shopping : )
I love Wii Sports. I play Wii Active Life Outdoor Challenge as a hard core part of my workout, but when I want to have fun I love Wii Sports, where I’m a tennis pro, and almost one in boxing, and Top Spin 4. I love the tennis games!
Please help me in tennis! I suck sooo bad and will take any tips that you have! The BOY deserves some better competition. Luckily I can beat him bowling, so it’s a little more fair : )
