It has been 10 days since I’ve had a day off, and I am counting down the hours to the weekend. That being said, I am pushing it to stay awake past 8:30pm to cheer on the Bears tonight. For lack of brain power and creativity, I thought it would be fun to share with you a few things in the blog/internet world that have been catching my eye this week.
1. Shopping for a Cause at Headbands of Hope
Caitlin posted about this, so please go check it out. As many of you know, St. Jude and pediatric oncology hold a very special place in my heart!
2. Candy Corn Oreos
Ohh the recipes they will make!
3. These adorable boots from Merrell
4. Anything with Pumpkin
Especially Angela’s Homemade Pumpkin Butter
Or Jessica’s Pecan Pumpkin Butter
5. National Peanut Day
I learned this from Averie and it of course it makes me think of this mouth watering homemade white chocolate peanut butter!
6. Pancakes for One
Lauren has tons of fantastic morning recipes for one, including this new Banana Bread Pancake
The picture (above) is actually for Super Easy Banana Flax Pancakes
7. Everyone training for the Chicago Marathon (including this Blogger on the Run)
I have one word for you…Jealous! I’ll be back next year!
8. Other bloggers getting ‘back on track’ with healthy eating habits (like ME!)
Megan shared her thoughts in this well written post.
10. New Recipes for a New Year
Thanks Vegetarian Times for sending holiday happy recipes to my inbox
Other Good Finds for a Sweet New Year…
Fig, Olive Oil, and Sea Salt Challah
I am looking forward to catching up on some of my blogging this weekend, but right now I need to catch up on some sleep!
What has been catching your eye this week???
I bet you are tired. I am going to check out some of your links. Maybe I will copy a few of the recipes.
Thanks for the heads up on the challah bread. I just bought two jars of fig filling. I remember round poppy seed filled challah when I was a kid.
I have NEVER tried it, but it looked like one of the most beautiful breads that I have ever seen. You will have to let me know if you give it a go (and I will send my address for you to ship some my way). I love homemade Challah!
I really want to try those Oreos! Hopeully I’ll remember to buy them before it’s too late. Have you seen the candy corn white chocolate m&m’s? I want to try those too!
No, but I bet they are amazing! I will keep my eyes open for Oreos this weekend and pick you up a box if I find them. I was thinking these would be great in your fudge recipe!
I am DYING to get my hands on those candy corn Oreos! I haven’t found them yet 🙂
I was talking about them with all of my patients today at work. I’ve got the kids looking out for me on an Oreo search. I see White Chocolate Candy Corn Oreo Fudge in my future!
I am dying to try Candy Corn Oreos! They look so wonderfully sweet and like the best junk food ever.
I’m just hoping they are not sold out by the time I get to Target this afternoon : )
Aw thanks for linking to my cookie dough brownies! Unfortunately they are NOT keeping with the healthy eating situation. I had to get rid of most of them because I was eating so many!! I need to test out these candy corn Oreos…intriguing!
You are welcome! I am looking forward to making the brownies…hopefully soon! They aren’t the healthiest, but I’m thinking I can make them (and share them) with the upcoming holidays. Like you…I need to have them out of the house…ha ha!
