I have hundreds of pictures from our trip and now I have finally had some time to look them through and sort them out. We even had a disposable water camera (when was the last time you took pictures on 35mm???) and found that Costco could put them onto a DVD in less than an hour. I will share our adventures over the next few posts, but the first stop is O’hare airport on January 4th.

My favorite thing about O’hare…Argo Tea!!! The lentil bowl made the perfect pre-flight lunch.

We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale and easily collected all of luggage.

I have a bit of an overpacking problem!

We spent the night hanging out with my aunt. She took us to a local deli for dinner. The BOY was thrilled with his corned beef sandwich and knish. We were back to eating the next morning when we took my 99 year old grandpa to breakfast. More delicious deli food which is easy to find in Florida and rare up hear in Chicago.

They drove us to Port Everglades where we boarded the Carnival Miracle for an 8 night cruise!

We dropped our bags off in our room, grabbed a cold drink, and began to explore the boat.

The boat’s theme was literature. It was colorful and elaborately decorated, giving the entire boat that overdone Vegas feel. Frankenstein is two stories high and stands on the dance floor of the club.

Bon Voyage!!!

We cracked open a bottle of bubbly and sailed away from Ft. Lauderdale as the sun began to set.

We had 4 full days at sea and 3 unique ports to explore, but the cruise still flew by way too fast!
